Lesson #3 / Personification / Metaphors / Beginning-Middle-End
The refrigerator hummed.
The car slept in the driveway.
The tulips danced in the rainstorm.
The owl's eyes...large marbles...looked for a mouse.
The lion's teeth...sharp knives...tore into the zebra.
Anger is...jalapeno peppers mixed with chili paste.
We started with...The dog barked. After adding a beginning and an end...and using our 5 Senses and our 5 W's & How...we came up with a little story.
Sally turned the backyard hose on because it was hot. Fido, her fun loving Golden Retriever barked wildly and loudly when the water hit his nose. Happy to get relief from the summertime heat, he played in mud puddles all afternoon long.
HOMEWORK:
1. Write two sentences using the tool of Personification.
2. Write two sentences which include Metaphors.
3. Beginning:
Middle: The librarian shouted.
End:
